Massage without the “no pain, no gain”
I strongly believe in the body’s ability to adapt and overcome injury. You don’t need to grit your teeth through a treatment for it to work.
That’s why I don’t work with the old “no pain, no gain” mentality of massage, or within the so-called “good pain” threshold. With a holistic understanding of pain and injury, I work with you. I encourage feedback all the way through, and I adjust the treatment to what works best for you.
What sets me apart is my commitment to education. I take pride in helping people understand their bodies, so you leave knowing why something hurts and what you can do about it between sessions.
Working alongside osteopaths, and furthering my own education in osteopathy, has given me more ways to influence the nervous system and muscles than massage alone. It also means that if something needs more than massage, there’s an osteopath on the team to work with.
How I work
Pain and discomfort don’t just happen. They have a cause. Instead of offering a quick fix, I take a comprehensive approach and look for the root cause of your aches and pains.
Your appointment
We check in. Before we start, we talk through what’s going on, run through a health screening, and agree on the techniques and pressure that suit you.
I assess. I don’t just treat symptoms. I look at how your body moves and functions, and how your daily activities, work habits, sport or gym movements might be contributing to your pain.
We treat. Hands-on treatment tailored to you, adjusted as we go based on your feedback. You’ll leave with exercises and stretches suited to your body, and the small changes that can make results last.
Treatment techniques
Trigger point therapy. Targeting tight, tender spots in the muscle to release tension and ease pain.
Myofascial release. Working through muscle and the tissue around it to restore movement, flexibility and range of motion.
Instrument-assisted massage. Using RockBlade tools to work on stubborn areas where conventional methods have fallen short.
Cupping. Suction cups that lift and decompress soft tissue, used alongside hands-on work where it helps.
Kinesiology taping. RockTape taping to support muscles and joints between sessions and while you stay active.
Exercise and stretching. Drawing on my background in exercise prescription, I tailor exercises and stretches to your specific needs for lasting results.

Headaches, sport and everyday aches
Working alongside osteopaths for the past four years has exposed me to a broad range of acute and persistent injuries and pain. Over that time I’ve done a lot of work with headache management and with sporting and running injuries, as well as the everyday aches and pains that get in the way of daily life.
Neck and shoulder pain is one of the most common things I see. It can show up in a lot of ways, from headaches and a stiff neck to restricted movement through the shoulders. Tension from work, driving and screen time often plays a part, and loosening tight muscles combined with the right exercises can make a lasting difference.
For the past three years I’ve also worked at the Touch Football State championships, looking after several teams.
Outside the clinic
I grew up on a farm with a very active upbringing, and played many years of competitive rugby league and touch football.
I know how much being active does for your physical and mental health, and I know the frustration of not being able to do what you love because of pain.
