Conditions We Treat in Tweed Heads
Pain rarely has a single cause, and it rarely stays in one place. At Medela Osteopathy & Co we treat the whole picture: the sore spot, and everything feeding into it.
Find your issue below for a quick overview, then follow the links to our Deep Dive articles for the full story.
Root cause, not just relief
Whatever brings you in, every first visit starts the same way. We take a thorough history, assess how you move, and work out what is driving your pain, not just where you feel it.
Treatment is then built from the tools that suit you. That might be soft tissue work, joint mobilisation, spinal manipulation, dry needling, cupping, cranial osteopathy or rehab exercise, often combined in the one session. Dry needling is included in your consult at no extra cost. Read why we combine techniques in The Swiss Cheese Approach.
We treat teenagers and adults, and work alongside GPs and other health professionals when you need them.
What can we help with?
-
Headaches & Migraines
Tension headaches, neck-related (cervicogenic) headaches, migraines and pain at the base of the skull. Our dedicated headache consults look for every trigger, not just the obvious one.
Our Headache & Migraine Clinic
Tension, cervicogenic or migraine? How to tell
-
Neck Pain & Stiffness
Stiff necks, pain from desk work and phones, wry necks and pain that spreads into the shoulders or head. We look at the upper back and jaw as well as the neck itself.
-
Lower Back Pain & Disc Injuries
Acute flare-ups, ongoing aches, sciatica-type pain and disc injuries. We combine hands-on treatment with a clear rehab plan to get you moving and keep you there.
-
Shoulder Pain
Rotator cuff irritation, stiff or painful shoulders, and overuse from surfing, gym work or lifting. We assess the neck and upper back too, since they often feed into shoulder pain.
-
Hip, Knee & Foot Pain
Hip bursitis, knee pain, plantar fasciitis and Achilles pain. We look at how the whole leg is loading, from the foot up to the pelvis.
-
Sports Injuries
Whatever you play, we help you recover from injury and keep you training. We look at the demands of your sport, how your body is handling that load, and what needs to change to get you back.
Sports we see: Surfing · Martial arts (jiu-jitsu, MMA, boxing, Muay Thai) · Rugby league and union · AFL · Soccer · Touch footy · Basketball · Netball · Running · Gym and weightlifting · Hyrox and CrossFit · Cycling · Swimming · Tennis and padel · Golf · Cricket · Pilates and yoga
-
Tendon Pain & Repetitive Strain
Tendinopathy (tendonitis and tendinosis), tennis and golfer’s elbow, wrist pain and repetitive strain from work or training. Tendons need the right load, so exercise is a big part of the plan.
-
Jaw Pain & TMJ
Jaw clicking, clenching, grinding and pain around the temples. The jaw, neck and head work as a unit, so we assess all three.
-
Work & Postural Pain
Aches from long hours at a desk, on your feet or behind the wheel. We treat the pain and help you change the load that causes it, from workstation setup to simple exercises.
-
Pregnancy & Women's Health
Back, pelvic and rib pain during pregnancy, and recovery after birth. Gentle, adapted treatment for each stage.
